FAQs

We stand out in the competitive landscape of youth football development due to our holistic approach that integrates theoretical learning with practical skills on football, life skills and mentorship to better prepare our young players to manage challenges on and off the field. KEA’s training programme is strategically aligned with the arts and sports science career pathway provided for in the mainstream education. Our academy also consists of competent administrators and coaches certified by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Boys and girls from ages 5 to 17 meet the basic requirements to join our academy. Applicants may need to provide copies of their birth certificates for age verification. No specific skill level or previous playing experience is necessarily required to join the KEA.

Admission process usually begins with filling out an online form on the KEA’s website www.kandandaeliteacademy.co.ke. This form will typically ask for personal details and contacts. Furthermore, parents or guardians will be required to provide additional information on any special medical conditions that their children may have.

Beyond regular training, KEA provides numerous opportunities for both football and life-skills development through specialized clinics, workshops, and guest coaching sessions. Players also participate in local, regional, national, and international competitions, allowing them to apply their learnt skills in real-game scenarios and gain valuable experience. These competitions are crucial for players’ growth and are often attended by scouts and coaches looking for emerging talents.

Overall, KEA offers a comprehensive training program that includes technical skills such as dribbling, passing, ball trapping, shooting, and defending. As the players grow in the game, we introduce tactical training, positioning, decision making on the field, and physical conditioning with exercises to improve speed, agility, strength, and endurance. Additionally, we integrate football, life-skills and mentorship to mentally help players develop focus, resilience, and become responsible global citizens.

We carefully observe and align our activities schedule with the ministry of education (MOE) calendar. Typically, our training sessions are held on Saturdays (10AM to 12PM). During school holidays, we continue with our sessions on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (10AM to 12PM). The actual practical football sessions usually last between 1 and ½ to 2 hours, ensuring a balance between intensive practice and adequate rest.
